Taylor Of Old Bond Street has introduced a new shaving cream to their lineup, with a “Grapefruit” scent. I’m not a fan of the taste of grapefruit (too tart/sour for me) but the scent of Taylor’s cream is pleasant to me: citrus-y, not too strong, and lingering.
It lathers quickly, generously, and luxuriously even with my hard water. And it didn’t seem to be too concerned with the water-to-cream ratio either. The performance is top-notch…perhaps the best of any Taylor’s cream I’ve tried.
Ingredients: aqua, stearic acid, myristic acid, potassium hydroxide, coconut acid, glycerin, parfum, triethanolamine, sodium hydroxide, benzyl alcohol, methylchloroisothiazolinone, methylisothiazolinone
(Interestingly, nothing in the list obviously says “grapefruit” to me…)

What makes the grapefruit scent so nice and rounded out is that its grapefruit mixed with a little orange, but also includes “floral and crisp green” notes, per TOBS’s description of the grapefruit scent. It’s a nice blend and one of my personal favorites 🙂
Doesn’t say Grapefruit in the ingredients because they these a fragrance oil; that’s the “parfum” ingredient.
Cyril Salter “Sublime Citrus” is another grapefruit scent with a bit of lemon. It, too, is a fantastic value and makes a beautiful lather from a modest amount of cream.
I purchased a tub of TOBS Grapefruit recently, with several other TOBS scents. I haven’t shaved with it yet, but I have lathered it a couple of times and even given away a sample. Strong grapefruit scent (if you like grapefruit). My personal fav of that haul was the Jermyn Street!
Overall, TOBS creams are a great value for their price/quality.
