SPF?

Listen to this article

Any recommendation for a good post shave lotion with SPF? I live in Vegas and the sun here is brutal in the summer.

I don’t have any first hand experience with a high-SPF aftershave but browsing the forum postings L’Oreal Men’s Expert Comfort Max After Shave Balm (SPF 15) and Neutrogena Ultrasheer Helioplex (SPF 55) are often mentioned, with Neutrogena Men Triple Protect Face Lotion (SPF 20) getting a few comments as well.  Hope that helps.

  1. Mantic I’m loving this site, just poking around and taking a look!
I generally just mix a small amount of SPF30 (Banana Boat) in with my facial moisturizer/aftershave balm for the day. Works a treat, and is a fair bit cheaper than buying a special SPF moisturizer.

  2. Hi Mantic!
I’m a big fan. Thanks for all the great work. I’m a head shaver (DE) and face shaver (straight) so sunscreen is a must. I absolutely love the HeadBlade brand SPF lotion. It’s called HeadLube SPF 30. After my shave I slap on an aftershave and then around a quarter size of the Headlube all over my head, face and neck. The lotion is very light feeling to me and does not smell like sunscreen. I bought it because of the sunscreen but I find it to be a great moisturizer too. I find it locally at certain RiteAid pharmacies. A bottle lasts me about 4 months.

  3. Suggest checking Environmental Working Group (EWG) website before purchasing any of these sunblock products.

I have been using Neutrogena Men Triple Protect Face Lotion (SPF 20). In addition to sun protection it heals razor rash, cuts, etc. after shaving.

  5. I really like Every Man Jack Face Lotion (the one with sunscreen, the regular is not as good). It has an SPF rating of 15, I believe. I used to be able to buy it at my local Target store. I recently bought 5 tubes online at Walgreens.com.

  6. This is really helpful. I have been wondering about this myself. I have really sun-sensitive skin, and it would be nice to combine two steps in the summer.
