How to Properly Sanitize and Clean Your Razor
Merry Christmas
Christmas time is historically when Gillette released their latest models. Other companies followed and Christmas morning was a time when thousands of people would wake up to a new razor under the tree.
This year (2020) is the 60th anniversary of the F-4 Gillette Toggle and Aqoss or “Bottom Dial” razors!
Year In Review
2020 is over and even though it was a difficult year all around, there was a lot going on in the wet shaving world.
I’ll tell you all about it!
Holiday Contest Results
Recently I purchased a custom shave brush from Wolf Whiskers. Peter the man behind Wolf Whiskers was kind enough to donate a shave brush to be given away on the podcast!
Above is the give-a-way brush although it now has a black wolf knot and will be sealed when shipped out. Because this brush has a synthetic knot I will ship this out anywhere, so this contest is open to our international listeners!
How to win? Email me the answer to the question I ask during this show and I will send you a number to be entered in the drawing! I will announce the winner on the next cast!
Congrats to Bill Eagen!
Properly Cleaning/Sanitizing
- Barbercide does wonders.
- Boil metal razors, parts
- Clean shaving knots
- Rubbing alcohol works great.
I’ll tell you how to do it!

Joe, first time here. I’m a big fan of Mark’s Sharpologist site. I started wet shaving in 2014 with a Merkur 23c.
What wet shaving apparel if i may ask?
I have 20 razors mostly vintage. My absolute favorite and go to is my Rockwell 6S I bought when it first came out. But I love them all of course.
Well, just watching an old Christmas Twilight Zone waiting for 2021 and thought I’d drop a line. I love reading about shaving so thanks for your work. Happy New Year Joe!! It’s going to be a GREAT year!!
