How To Grow Facial Hair Faster For Teen Boys Who Want To Shave

Listen to this article

Growing facial hair is a rite of passage for teenage boys and the desire to shave can be overwhelming. But it can also be frustrating when the process of growing facial hair seems to take too long.  With the right approach, teenage boys looking to grow facial hair faster can find success in their mission. Here are some simple tips and advice on how to increase facial hair growth so that teenage boys can achieve the look they want in no time.

How Does Hair Grow?

Human hair and its growth cycle is surprisingly complex, made up of many parts.  But for this article I’ll simplify it into three basic stages:

  1. The first stage of the hair growth cycle is called the Anagen stage.  This is the active growth phase and lasts several years.
  2. Next comes the Catagen stage.  This relatively brief phase of about 2 weeks is a natural, carefully controlled death of the hair fiber and the area around the papilla.
  3. Finally there is the Telogen stage, a resting phase of about 3 months where the old hair fiber sheds and the area prepares itself for a new Anagen stage to begin.

Each individual hair is governed by its own cycle, which is why you don’t notice all of your hair falling out at the same time.

There are a few things that can cause hair growth to slow down or stop altogether. These include stress, poor diet, illness, and hormonal changes.

Teenage Hormones And Facial Hair

Hormones and age play a big role in how quickly facial hair will grow for teenage boys. It’s important to understand that the growth rate of facial hair varies from person-to-person, so even if your friend seems to have grown a full beard overnight, it doesn’t necessarily mean you will too. Hormones play an important role in triggering puberty which is when boys begin to see changes like increased muscle mass and body/facial hair growth.

What Lifestyle Changes Should Men Make To Grow Facial Hair Faster?

Hormones aside, there are some things you can do to encourage the growth of facial hair.  Here are some changes you can have some control over.

Rest

Getting enough rest is important for growing facial hair because it helps to promote hormone production and healthy hair growth. With adequate sleep, testosterone and DHT levels are more likely to remain high, which can lead to increased rates of beard growth. Without enough sleep, these hormones can be suppressed, inhibiting the speed and consistency of beard growth.

Manage Stress

It might be a little tougher for a teenage guy to manage but stress is known to have an impact on facial hair growth, as it can increase the production of testosterone and constrict blood vessels. To reduce stress levels try reducing screen time, taking up meditation, or doing breathing exercises. Reducing stress levels can help promote faster beard growth.

Exercise Can Help Facial Hair

Exercising has been shown to help facial hair growth by increasing testosterone and blood circulation, as well as reducing stress levels.

Diet

You may not want to hear this but diet can play a major role in promoting facial hair growth.

Research has found that there is a correlation between refined sugars, processed foods, and facial hair. Studies have shown that consumption of these items can inhibit hair follicle health and slow down the rate of facial hair growth.

Eating a balanced diet with plenty of vegetables, fruits, whole grains, lean proteins, and healthy fats may help promote healthy facial hair growth. Additionally supplementing with B vitamins such as biotin may also help improve the rate at which facial hair grows.  Eating foods such as nuts for biotin; chicken, beef or fish for Vitamin B3 and Vitamin B5; avocados for Vitamin B5; cereals and leafy greens for Vitamin 9; carrots, broccoli or leafy greens for Vitamins A & C; citrus fruits or beans for Vitamins C & E are all beneficial options that can contribute to faster facial hair growth.

Staying hydrated is important for beard and mustache growth because it helps to keep the skin healthy and allows for the growth of facial hair. Hydration also helps to maintain proper kidney function and eliminates harmful compounds, making it essential to have adequate water intake in order to promote facial hair growth.

Adopt A Skincare Routine

Having a good skincare routine is essential for facial hair growth potential. Cleansers, exfoliants, and moisturizers help improve blood circulation and promote healthy hair follicles. Keeping the facial skin clean with warm water and a mild cleanser can also encourage more small hairs to grow.

Keep Your Skin Clean

Young men who want to grow facial hair faster must first ensure they are taking care of their skin. This includes washing their face with warm water and a mild cleanser, avoiding harsh soap, and using moisturizers and (occasionally) exfoliants as part of a good skin care routine. These steps can help improve blood flow in the area and promote healthier hair follicle growth..

Moisturize Your Skin

Moisturizing the skin can help with growing facial hair by keeping it soft and comfortable. This allows for better absorption of nutrients needed to stimulate facial hair growth. Moisturizers can also help reduce itchiness associated with newly grown facial hair.

Summing Up – Patience Is Key

Teenage boys who want to shave and grow facial hair faster should remember to keep their skin clean and hydrated, use a good cleanser, eat healthily, and exercise. Above all else, it is important to be patient and wait for the facial hair to grow naturally.
