I’ve been trawling Amazon’s safety razor list lately, trying to see which ones offer unique features or a great price/value experience. I recently picked up a Bambaw DE razor and put it through its paces.
My Experience With The Bambaw Safety Razor

Presentation
As you can see from the featured image of this article, the Bambaw double edge safety razor comes in a low-profile cardboard box.
Note that this razor is available in a number of colors.
Specs
Official specs are not available on the Amazon page but my own “kitchen table” measurements indicate a weight of about 95 grams and a handle length of about 90 mm. The head is the usual scalloped skin guard design with a profile of about 10 mm.
My Shaves
I do quite like the weight and balance, and the decent knurling on the long handle, of this razor.
Personally, I find the Bambaw razor a thoroughly “average” double edge razor for aggressiveness, build quality, and general performance. And I don’t mean that in a bad way: I think it’s predictable. For comparison purposes the Bambaw razor is more aggressive than the Caveem DE razor but much milder than the MYITKHT SE razor to me. I’d call the Bambaw aggressiveness a 5 on a 1-10 scale (slightly more than my preference but not unusably-so. “Your Mileage May Vary”) with my preferred blades. Like I said–average, predictable.
Other Reviews
Reading other reviews indicates a distinct, divided user perception. For individuals new to traditional wet shaving, the Bambaw razor is frequently lauded as a transformative upgrade from multi-blade systems, delivering an exceptionally close shave with significantly reduced skin irritation, razor burn, and ingrown hairs. These users often report it as the “closest shave of my life.”
Conversely, experienced wet shavers in online communities often identify the Bambaw razor as a rebranded, mass-produced Chinese model available under various names on platforms like AliExpress. This segment views it as a basic, entry-level tool rather than a premium product. Critiques center on its long-term durability. The razor’s “aggressiveness” is a point of contention; some find it more efficient and aggressive than established mild razors like the Merkur 34c, while others believe its head is a clone of the mild Edwin Jagger DE89 design.
Razor Background
From the Bambaw page on Amazon:
- THE PERFECT SHAVE: Make skin irritations and ingrown hair a problem of the past. With the double sided razor, you will achieve the closest shave effortlessly.
- DURABLE: Bambaw’s de safety razor is built to last a lifetime. The reusable razor is made from high-quality, durable materials. The double edge razor is the ideal environmentally friendly gift.
- INCLUDE 5 SAFETY RAZOR BLADES: These high-quality stainless-steel razor blades are designed to resist corrosion, ensuring their durability and sharpness for a long-lasting, close and clean shave. Each blade is carefully wrapped in wax paper, ensuring safe and convenient handling.

- COST EFFECTIVE: With a Bambaw vintage razor, you only need to rebuy the eco razor blades. The metal safety razor saves money in the long run, provides a better shave and promotes sustainability.
Summing Up
In the end, the Bambaw safety razor stands out as a solid, lower-cost, no-nonsense option, particularly for beginners. While seasoned shavers may find it more generic than premium offerings, its predictable performance, comfortable balance, and eco-friendly positioning make it an appealing entry-level choice to me. If you’re seeking an affordable way to experience traditional shaving without surprises, the Bambaw delivers exactly what it promises: an average razor in the best possible sense.
