I recently has to travel overnight and pack light. I shaved with the Duke Cannon shave cream and the Supply disposable SE and got a surprisingly good (to me) shave out of them.

A while back I got a sample of the Duke Cannon shave cream (it doesn’t appear to be on their website at the moment but it is on their Amazon Storefront). The truth is, with all the things going on in my life at the moment, it’s been sitting in my “products to try” cabinet for a while.
Then last week I had to travel overnight for a brief trip out of town. The wife and I packed very light and I decided to take the Duke Cannon shave cream and a Supply Disposable SE.
I never try for (or expect) a “baby’s butt smooth” (BBS) shave when I’m traveling–there are just too many variables to account for. I’m quite happy when I get a “darn fine shave” (DFS) in those circumstances.
The circumstances for the shave at the motel the next morning were less than ideal: the lighting was kind of glaring, the sink stopper wouldn’t close completely, and the motel-supplied cleansing soap left something to be desired. My prep was…adequate? I guess.
But to my utter surprise I got a really good, easy DFS result with the Duke Cannon and the Supply Disposable! The Duke Cannon provided more comfort than what I was expecting and the Supply razor worked very well in combination.
Sometimes things just come together in unexpected ways. I’ll be taking this pair with me more often when I travel.
