I do have 2 scars from the learning process but now I rarely get the slightest nick, sharpness is the key to nick free straight razor shaving.
I get a smoother, closer shave with a straight razor than with any multi-bladed cartridge shaver that I’ve tried. It’s true that it requires more maintenance but I’ll take that any day.
