Attractiveness is one of the things a lot of men struggle with every single day.  To be attractive, we need to feel good about the way we present ourselves, the way we dress and the way we carry ourselves through different situations. Because there are a lot of factors that come into play, it’s no surprise how easy it is for most men to ruin their own attractiveness.  To feel and look good, one of the first things you should embrace is proper skin care. If you are curious to know, here are the 5 skincare steps that should be in your routine.

1. Cleanse your skin- the proper way

Wash!

This is really basic. If you want to look good, you have to look clean first.  The reality, however, is that a lot of men either do it the wrong way or they don’t do it at all. And that’s where things can go wrong.

When you don’t wash your face, dirt, excess oil and dead skin cells can easily accumulate on the surface of your skin. As a result, you can end up with clogged pores, acne and even wrinkles.

If you are trying to impress women, none of these things can help you.

In cleansing your face, it’s a good idea to find the right product that can work with your skin type. If you have overactive oil glands, for example, it’s a must that you invest in the best face wash for men with oily skin.

It should contain ingredients that can deeply cleanse your pores and remove any impurities clogging them, like salicylic acid and glycolic acid.

If your skin type leans more on the drier side, go with a moisturizing face wash. The best ingredients you should look out for are shea butter and glycerin.

2. Prep your skin prior to shaving

Most men forego shaving creams because they think that they are unnecessary and time-consuming. If you are one of these men, now is the right time to correct this shaving mistake.

A good lather is important if you want to get a closer shave and save your skin from the painful cuts and burns. When there’s enough lather, there’ll be less friction between the blades of your razor and your skin.

And when there’s less friction, you can have a more comfortable and smoother shaving experience.

Apart from shaving creams, your skin will feel thankful if you use a high-quality razor, too. Using a cheap razor can tug and nick your skin.
There’s the risk of introducing bacteria into your skin, too, especially if you forgot to replace your razor. To stay on the safe side, make it a habit to get a new razor after 5 to 10 shaves.

If you have delicate skin, make sure you are using a razor for sensitive skin and swap put your blades more frequently. For your skin type, grab a new pair of blades after 2 to 3 shaves.

3. Don’t forget to exfoliate

Exfoliation is the key to removing dead skin cells and in making sure that they don’t end up clogging your pores. If you don’t buff away these cells, you’ll get acne and dull-looking skin.

If you want to ace looking the sexiest man, exfoliate once or twice a week.

A good exfoliating product for men should have ingredients like glycolic acid. This ingredient can help loosen the bond that holds dead skin cells together.

Glycolic acid can also stimulate new skin cell production so you’ll look healthier and a lot younger.

For men with acne-prone skin, products with salicylic acid make a great choice. It can help unclog pores which can prevent breakouts.
If you don’t find that enough, there are men exfoliating tools you can try. There are gloves and brushes you can use to gently buff away dead skin cells.

One caveat, though.

You shouldn’t exfoliate more than three times a week. If you go beyond that, your skin can look a lot worse.

Exfoliation can cause irritation and redness, especially if you scrub too hard or you use too much exfoliating product. It can also make your skin a lot oilier and more sensitive to the sun.

4. Make it a habit to use moisturizers

If your skin feels like sandpaper, there is no chance you can attract women. Apart from that, dry skin can also make you feel itchy and uncomfortable.

To make sure none of these things happen to you, use your moisturizers frequently. Ideally, you should apply a moisturizer twice a day, especially if you are dealing with dry skin.

Be careful when applying moisturizer more frequently than that. It can make you end up looking greasy and oily.

5. Do proper lip care

Be Kind To Your Skin
When it comes to lip care, a lot of men are not conscious enough. Even though they get exposed to a lot of sun rays, cold weather and harsh environment, most men wouldn’t even bother to swipe a good balm on their lips.

And the more they neglect their lips, the less they become attractive.

Ideally, you should nourish your lips. Since they don’t have any sweat or oil glands to provide moisture, you’ll need to apply a lip balm, especially during winter.

A good lip balm is one that contains moisturizing ingredients, like shea butter, vitamin E, olive oil and honey. It should be fragrance-free, too.

Lip balms with SPF make a great option as well. Your lips, just like the rest of your body, also need protection against the sun’s harmful rays.
Give your lips a good but gentle scrub once or twice a week. You can use a soft-bristled toothbrush or a lip scrubbing product to buff away dead skin cells.

You can even create your own lip scrub at home just by combining honey and sugar.

Use circular motions when scrubbing and avoid using too much pressure. You wouldn’t want to end up with raw and irritated lips.
After exfoliating, always follow up with your lip balm.
