Men Essentials, a wet shaving website and store in Canada, was one of the larger vendors a few years ago. But an economic downturn along with some bad luck conspired to deal the owner a blow from which he could not recover. However, a new owner has recently picked up the gauntlet and a new Men Essentials will be rising from the ashes early next year. Here’s an announcement I received from Seth, the new owner:
MenEssentials is coming back!
Many of you may remember MenEssentials, for some of you it may be a new name. We’re happy to announce that MenEssentials is returning soon to serve all of North America and provide a high-quality selection of traditional wet shaving and skin care products including (but not limited to) safety and straight razors, strops, shaving creams and soaps, skin and hair care products, as well as other interesting items. Along with a complete redesign and re-engineering of the entire website MenEssentials is also reopening its retail location in the Greektown area of Toronto right near the Chester subway station sometime in February/March of 2013. The web programmers are clicking away at their keyboards, the interior designers have completed interior measurements and are working on finalizing fixtures and cabinets, and product is finally starting to arrive… we’re so close we can taste it! If you’d like to be notified when we’re fully ready for re-launch you can sign up at http://www.menessentials.com (like we say there, we’ll make it worth your while). And if you live in the Toronto area or happen to be in the neighborhood once we’re open please stop in to see us. And yes, our store will be below ground which means it’s an actual man cave… AWESOME! Here’s a preview: http://imgur.com/a/aLcYd#0 and we’ll post updated pictures to our social media accounts once we start to get it outfitted.
We’re really looking forward to rejoining the wet shaving community. Thanks so much to all the great suppliers for supporting us so far and double-thanks to those of you that figured out already we’re coming back and signed up to be notified (and even dropped us a few nice notes). See you in 2013!
The retail location looks awesome! Congrats on the new opening and good luck! Almost makes me wish I lived in Toronto!! 😛 Well I used too…
