The 10 Most Popular Razors Among Readers

Listen to this article

I have been able to compile some statistics about what Sharpologist readers have been buying over the past 12 months.  I thought it might be interesting to list the top ten products in different categories.  The first list was shaving brushes and the second list was shaving creams and soaps.  Here are the top 10 razors that readers are buying.

This list was compiled from reports supplied (mainly) from Amazon.com, and other sites where Sharpologist is an affiliate. One of the ways Sharpologist is able to cover its costs and be a sustainable business is a small commission earned when readers make a purchase from Amazon or other sites after clicking on our links (including those above). See the disclosures page.  While no personal details are passed on, an overall report about what was bought is available and was used to create this list.

  1. Great list – thanks for posting this. Any thoughts on shaving with cryogenically frozen razor blades? My husband has used these for years to shave his head and face and swears they last much longer than other blades.

  2. I purchased the Lord L6 two years ago, which led me to the Merkur 23c. Both give a very comfortable, close shave.

  3. It states that the 2. Edwin Jagger DE89Lbl Lined Detail Chrome Plated Double Edge Safety Razor is no longer available. But if you click the link on the right hand side of the page for this razor it is still sold on Amazon.

    1. I’ve mentioned the Mongoose a few times but I have never done a full review because it is usually out of stock–production is extremely limited.

      1. They claim that their production has caught up with the demand, so i ordered one. Waiting on the good folks at the USPS to deliver it.

  4. I’m not surprised with the results because they are based on Amazon sales data. I use mainly vintage Gillette razors which would never show up using that data. As for Amazon, I may buy some blades from them occasionally but I mainly get my supplies from smaller shave specific vendors and sometimes brick and mortar stores.
I think a poll where we could write in what we use would be more accurate.

    1. With all due respect to Mantic, these last few posts are mis-titled, IMO. This data is in no way a reflection on what the readers of this blog use, own or like (ie. what is “popular” among readers). It is simply a reflection of what was purchased on certain sites, as a result of clicking on a link/ad in this blog. At least Mantic was clear on how he compiled the data. It is what it is.

  5. No surprise that the Merkur 34C rated no.1
    My favourite go to razor.
I get consistent smooth close shaves using Feathers Blades with it.
    An ideal winning combination.
