A little bit of Dreadnought Post Shave Balm definitely goes a long way! To use the often utilized vernacular… The scent of it is very fresh citrus with spice tones and fairly strong initially, as most synthetically based scents tend to be but faded to the background for the most part after 4-5 hours. I have sensitive skin so often tend to react strongly to products with overly strong scents or a lot of chemicals. This product did not elicit much of a skin reaction. 3 Aftershave Balms From The Drugstore


I prefer a really good quality aftershave balm.  That generally means an artisan product (like Village Barber, Wm Neumann, New York Shaving Co., etc.) or something from one of the better men’s skin care lines (Trumper’s Skin Food, DR Harris’ aftershave Milk, or even Proraso).  But might there be something usable from your local grocery or drugstore?

Classicshaving.com has been carrying Handmade Soap Co. for a while, and I recently tried their aftershave lotion.  Unlike their aftershave balm (recently reviewed by Andy Tarnoff), I found this version to be lighter and less moisturizing–but not in a bad way.
